OpenCore Legacy Patcher 2.4.1 is the current stable release and a small, targeted follow-up to 2.4.0. It addresses two regressions reported widely after 2.4.0 shipped – a kernel panic on boot for a subset of 2014 MacBook Air units running Sequoia 15.2, and an issue where the new automatic post-install patcher could re-run unnecessarily after minor macOS updates. If you are on 2.4.0 or earlier and running macOS Sequoia, upgrading to 2.4.1 is recommended.

Asset Information
- OpenCore-Patcher.pkg: GUI installer for the OCLP app and supporting frameworks. The recommended download for all users.
- OpenCore-Patcher-Uninstaller.pkg: Removes the OCLP app and CLI tools. Root patches and the EFI folder are left untouched – use the in-app revert option for those.
- AutoPkg-Assets.pkg: Resource bundle pulled automatically when the patcher needs it. Manual download is only useful for fully offline workflows.
Changelog
- Fixed kernel panic on boot affecting a subset of 2014 MacBook Air units on macOS Sequoia 15.2.
- Resolved an issue where the automatic post-install patcher could trigger on every reboot after certain macOS minor updates.
- Improved detection logic for previously applied root patches – the patcher no longer prompts to re-patch when nothing has changed.
- Minor fixes to the redesigned Settings screen, including correct persistence of the “Allow native macOS updates” toggle.
- Refined error messaging for the EFI build step on FileVault-enabled drives.
- Documentation links inside the app updated to point at the latest dortania.github.io guides.
Compatibility Notes
Hardware and macOS support in 2.4.1 mirrors 2.4.0 – 2008 and later Intel Macs that meet the published OpenCore Legacy Patcher minimums, running macOS Big Sur through Sequoia 15.2. This is the build the homepage and download page link to as “current.” Any user on 2.4.0 with a 2014 MacBook Air or who has noticed the post-install patcher running on every reboot should install 2.4.1 immediately. As always, take a Time Machine snapshot before patching, especially on systems that are your primary workstation.
