OpenCore Legacy Patcher 2.3.0 is the first release with broad, production-ready support for macOS Sequoia on unsupported Mac hardware. Building on the experimental Sequoia hooks from 2.2.0, this version ships a refreshed Metal GPU root-patch set, updated graphics acceleration support for Ivy Bridge and Haswell era iMacs and MacBook Pros, and a streamlined post-install patcher that automatically detects which patches your hardware needs after every macOS update.

Asset Information
- OpenCore-Patcher.pkg: Primary installer for the OCLP GUI app, root patcher, and supporting frameworks. Recommended for all users.
- OpenCore-Patcher-Uninstaller.pkg: Removes the OCLP app and supporting CLI utilities. Use OCLP itself to revert root patches before uninstalling if you want a fully stock environment.
- AutoPkg-Assets.pkg: Resource bundle the app downloads on demand when building EFI or applying root patches. Manual installation is not required.
Changelog
- Production support for macOS Sequoia 15.0 and 15.1 on supported legacy Mac models.
- Updated Metal GPU root patches with improved acceleration on AMD Polaris, Vega, and Navi cards used in 2013–2019 iMac and Mac Pro systems.
- New automatic post-install patcher that re-applies the correct patch set after every macOS minor update without manual intervention.
- Refreshed Wi-Fi patches for legacy BCM94360-class cards on Sequoia, fixing the “no networks found” regression seen in early 2.2.x beta builds.
- Reworked the EFI build pipeline to use parallel asset hashing – first-time build times are roughly 30 percent faster on older hardware.
- Added a guided onboarding flow on first launch that walks new users through model detection, EFI building, and USB installer creation.
- Resolved a long-standing issue where the in-app log viewer would truncate long stack traces.
- Bumped bundled OpenCorePkg and Lilu to the latest stable upstream releases.
Compatibility Notes
OpenCore Legacy Patcher 2.3.0 supports the full range of Intel Macs from 2008 onward that previously worked with 2.2.x. macOS Big Sur through Sequoia 15.1 are supported, with Sequoia recommended only on machines that have already completed a clean 2.3.0 EFI build. If you are upgrading from 2.1.x, run the in-app “Build and Install OpenCore” step before performing any macOS upgrade to pick up the new Sequoia-aware boot loader configuration. Always back up with Time Machine before applying root patches on a new macOS major version.
