OpenCore Legacy Patcher 2.2.0 is a feature-focused release that builds on the 2.1.x stability work and introduces broader compatibility for the upcoming macOS Sequoia developer betas. This version refines the new error-handling pipeline introduced in 2.1.2, expands AutoPkg-Assets to cover more Wi-Fi and Bluetooth controllers, and adds a redesigned root-patch progress UI that surfaces per-component status while patches are being applied. If you are running an unsupported Mac and want a smoother day-one experience with future macOS releases, this is the build to install.

Asset Information
- OpenCore-Patcher.pkg: The recommended installer for all users. Installs the GUI app, command-line helpers, and the supporting framework into
/Applications. - OpenCore-Patcher-Uninstaller.pkg: Removes the OpenCore Patcher app and supporting utilities. Does not revert root patches or remove the EFI folder from your boot drive – use the in-app revert option for that.
- AutoPkg-Assets.pkg: Supplementary resource bundle pulled automatically by the app when building or patching. Manual download is not required.
Changelog
- Add early-access compatibility hooks for macOS Sequoia developer betas on supported legacy hardware.
- Redesigned root-patch progress window with per-component status, timing, and a copy-to-clipboard log button.
- AutoPkg-Assets refreshed with updated Broadcom Wi-Fi and Bluetooth firmware bundles for older MacBook Pro and iMac lines.
- Hardened the post-install verification step introduced in 2.1.2 to detect partially written EFI folders before reboot.
- Improved logging for the OpenCore build pipeline – failures now include the offending plist key and value in the user-facing error.
- Resolved a corner case where the app would fail to launch on systems with non-ASCII characters in the user’s short name.
- Removed several stale telemetry strings from the debug output.
Compatibility Notes
Version 2.2.0 supports the same Mac model range as 2.1.x – 2008 and later Intel Macs that meet the OpenCore Legacy Patcher minimum requirements. macOS Big Sur, Monterey, Ventura, and Sonoma are fully supported. macOS Sequoia support in this build is experimental and intended for users comfortable running developer or public betas on a non-primary machine. As always, take a Time Machine snapshot before patching, and keep a known-good USB installer of your previous macOS version on hand in case a rollback is needed.
